Class 1

Welcome to Class 1!

Have a look at the pictures on the slideshow of what we get up to! Information about what we are learning can be found under the slideshow.

Class One is home to our Mini Morlanders (pre-school age) and Reception children. We have at least 2 members of staff working with the children at any one time.

Our class teachers are Mrs Harrison on a Monday and Tuesday, then Mrs Williamson on a Wednesday, Thursday afternoon and Friday. Mrs Monteverde teaches on a Thursday morning. Mrs Armstrong is our teaching assistant on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday along with Miss Hills on a Thursday. Miss Wood is completing a placement with us every Thursday and Friday. Mrs Morris (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and Miss Hills (Monday, Friday) work as a 1:1 support.

We use an online learning journal called 'Tapestry'.  The teachers will add observations and pictures to children's learning journeys but if they have done something amazing that you wish to share you will be able to log in to you child's journal and upload it.  Please speak to Mrs Williamson if you have any questions or problems logging in to Tapestry.

We encourage all of our Reception children to read for five minutes every day at home to an adult. We will also listen to your child read every day in school. Reception children will also bring home daily phonics practice to share with an adult at home.

Our PE days for this half term (Autumn 1) are Monday and Friday. Reception children should come to school in their PE kit on those days. Mini Morlanders should come to school in clothes suitable to take part in a PE lesson on these days. Fridays will be horse riding sessions for Reception children. Please ensure your child comes in warm clothing as part of their PE kit (joggers and jumper).

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates from Class 1 as we continue our adventure together.
