Welcome to Class 4
Welcome back! Autumn Term 2019 is here :)
In Class Four we are taught by Mrs Donnelly-Stott (Monday) and Mrs Dobinson (Tuesday- Friday). We also have French lessons with Miss Walsh on Wednesdays and Guitar lessons on Friday mornings with Mr Haythornthwaite. The class will be supported by Miss Elliott and Mrs Widdaker.
PE will take place on Thursdays and Fridays but remember to have a kit in school every day as we do make occasional changes. You will also need your trainers for Mile-a-day. Thursday lessons will be gymnastics which children will need a clean indoor kit for. Fridays after half term we will be doing tag rugby, this can get muddy so children can wear football boots if they wish.
This term our topic is all about Mountaineering. We will begin our topic with a trip to Cat Bells, something for the children to look forward to. We will also have a visit from an out-reach teacher from Dove Cottage where we will learn about Dorothy Wordsworth and how she too was a mountaineer. As well as history, we will also be looking at the geography of the local area and doing some work on our mapping skills.
In our Science lessons we will be learning about Materials, Solids & Liquids. This will involve some exciting investigations!
Finally we will be looking forward to our usual Christmas Play which promises to be a real treat :)
