Welcome to Class 3!
In Class 3 our teachers are Mrs Thornton (Mon) and Mrs Johnson (Tues - Fri)

Wednesday Afternoons - French with Miss Walsh and Music with Mrs Dobinson
Topic: This term we will be looking at Continents in Geography first and then move onto the exciting topic of Vikings, finding out all about them, where they came from, and where they travelled/settled.
English: This term in English we will be looking at a selection of gorgeous class texts including Mousehole Cat and Ice Palace. Then we’ll be discovering the Viking Sagas to link in with our History. We will be studying survival with Bear grills for our non-fiction texts. We will be using Read Write Inc to support our spelling programme. We are very pleased to have Mr Beeby, our drama guru, and the children will be working on Performance Poetry on a Friday afternoon.
Science: We will be finishing our topic of Geology and the fascinating study of rocks. If you have any non precious gems that you'd like to bring in we will be creating a rock display. Lots of interesting things are planned for this topic! Then we will be studying the Power of Forces, with lots of exciting challenges and experiments.
PE Continuing our success with mile a day, please have your trainers in every day for this. We will be doing PE on a Thursday and a Friday and we are pleased to have Anrdrea Stones back to help us with dance. We’ll be doing hockey this term.
Maths: Year 4 this year will be taking part in the statutory times tables test in June so it is really important that all year 4's know their times tables up to 12x12! Homework for Maths and times tables/learn its will be given out at the beginning of the week. We will have a Big Maths Beat That! test and Times Tables test on Fridays. Please practise these at home.
Spellings: Our Spelling test will be on a Friday.
