Sporting Superstars!

We actively encourage our pupils to take part in a wide variety of out of school sports. We hope you enjoy reading about some of our children's achievements. If you are a Morlander with an achievement you'd like to share with us then please email this into Miss Metcalf.

Annie

Annie took part in a Swimathon to raise money for CLIC Sargent.. CLIC Sargent is a charity that helped Annie when she had leukaemia. Annie swam a fantastic 10 lengths of Penrith pool which was especially good as she just got her certificate for one length front crawl and one length back stroke the week before Christmas. Annie raised over £300 with lots of Team Morland parents sponsoring her and she had lots of encouragement from the other children in school.

Izzie

In February Izzie and her 3 teammates from Penrith Gymnastics Club competed in Stoke at the Rhythmic Gymnastics National Group Seeding. This was their first national competition, competing with teams from all over the UK. Out of a field of 41 they qualified 22nd, which selected them for the National League. Over a further three competitions they improved scores and skills and ended up finishing 12th in the League at the finals in November. Not bad for a the most northerly rhythmic gymnastics club in England!
